Apollo 6.1 Status

Sept. 18th, 2002

We just sent our final public Apollo SQL 6.1 Beta to our beta team this evening. Depending on their feedback, this may be the final 6.1 SQL build. Worst case, we'll have a few more days of tweaking. Overall, the new SQL is looking very stable and incredibly fast.

The bigger issue now which is holding up the 6.1 release is our Apollo .NET. Med, our CTO, stumbled into some problems with passing pointers to data to and from the Apollo SDE DLLs. We've just asked Mike who is in charge of the core SDE engine, to add some new sx_ functions on Wednesday to solve this .NET issue. This means that Apollo .NET should be work correctly in coming days as well.

If everything goes as planned, we're looking at a 6.1 release next week or so.

Apologies for the lack of presence on the support forums lately, but as you can see we have a lot on our plates right now. A big thanks to the Team Vista guys for making it possible for us to focus on development.
