How do I upgrade to Apollo 6?

First, we are proud to announce that Apollo 6.0 is the first charged upgrade to Apollo VCL since September 1999! The 6.0 upgrade is free for customers that have purchased Apollo Server or Apollo VCL after May 1st, 2001. You should however download the new 6.0 file sets. Apollo VCL 5.x customers can upgrade to Apollo VCL 6.0 for $179. Owners of Apollo VCL 4.x or older can upgrade to Apollo 6.0 for $279.

Apollo Server 6.0 is compatible with the Apollo 6.0 engines only, so make sure that you are using synchronized versions. See the Apollo 6 Pricing page for more pricing details.

Is there a new SDE?

Yes! The SDE DLLs are now named SDE60.DLL, SDECDX60.DLL, SDENSX60.DLL and SDENTX60.DLL. There are several significant improvements in the SDE, specifically performance, internationalization and collation support. For people that don't know, the SDE is the low-level data engine that is used by every Apollo data engine.
